Eminem Lambasted President Trump in a recent interview this week, saying that he’s not the “president for all” Americans, and that Donald Trump only cares about appeasing his political base.
“We have a president who does not care about everybody in our country; he is not the president for all of us, he is the president for some of us,” Eminem told musician Elton John for Interview Magazine. “He knows what he’s doing.”
“As long as he’s got his base, he does not give a f— about anybody else in America,” he added. “But guess what? There’s more of us than there are of them.”
Elton John, who is from United Kingdom, added of the U.S. that “I’ve never felt such a divided country, ever.”
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, has spoken critically of Trump in the past. He ripped the president in a freestyle verse at the BET Hip Hop Awards in October, calling him a “racist grandpa.”
He also delivered an ultimatum to fans to choose between him and Trump.
Eminem told John that he still believes that the U.S. is the “greatest country to live in,” but said it was clear that there were issues that needed to be addressed. His criticism of Trump, he said, is about “having the right to stand up to oppression.”
“I still feel like America is the greatest country to live in,” he said. “This is my opinion. But we have issues that we need to work on and we need to do better.”
